More tests for Corona, but also vaccinations in Breisgau – Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district

After Easter, more tests will be carried out for Corona, so the number of cases will also rise again in Breisgau. The number of vaccinations increased significantly in the last two weeks despite the holidays.

The infection process in the corona pandemic is also picking up speed in the region. After the daily case numbers were rather low over the Easter days due to fewer tests being carried out and the correction of numerous false positive rapid test results through subsequent PCR tests, they have been increasing again since Thursday. But there is now significantly more vaccinated.

For the first time since January, more than 100 cases in one day

On Friday morning, the health department for the district and the city of Freiburg reported a value of over 100 for the first time since January 11, with a total of 110 new cases – and district a total of 366 cases. Subsequent corrections through refuted positive rapid tests are still possible.

Vaccination speed at the district vaccination center in Müllheim increases

The vaccination rate has picked up. In the two weeks from March 24th to April 7th, 3821 vaccinations were carried out in the district vaccination center in Müllheim, after a total of 10 091 vaccinations in the eight and a half weeks since the start on January 22nd. The number of vaccinations by mobile vaccination teams rose more slowly, from 3682 to 4496 now. In these vaccination missions, after the vaccinations in senior citizens’ facilities, what happens is now concentrated on the facilities that provide integration assistance for people with disabilities. Up until two weeks ago, first vaccinations were only given in three of these facilities. As of April 7th, there are already 16 facilities, and the second vaccination has already been carried out in another. The number of assisted living facilities in which the second vaccination has now also been completed rose from 14 to 17, and the first vaccination has been carried out in six others so far.
