More suspects are wanted, in addition to the two people who have already been arrested for the series of serious violent incidents in Alblasserdam, Zwijndrecht and Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, surrounding businessman Alex R and the ‘mistaken kidnapping’. For the first time, crystal-clear camera images were shown of the various arson attacks and explosions in the region in recent times. This happened in chronological order. The arson at the business premises in Zwijndrecht is the first of a whole series of incidents that would follow in the region around Dordrecht, and which are probably related to an intercepted consignment of cocaine at the end of July in the port of Antwerp.

The images show, among other things, a white car of the Renault Clio brand, which was parked around half past three in the morning on Saturday morning, August 14, at the business premises of businessman Alex R. on the Kreekweg in Zwijndrecht. Just before the motorists – presumably with another car – drilled into the facade and set the building on fire. Two men can be seen, but not very clearly. The police ask if anyone recognizes the men and the white car.

There are also images of the incident at the Tromplaan in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. There a man in a cap is walking restlessly down the street. Around the time the window of a house, belonging to the son of Alex R.’s girlfriend, was shot at, in the night of Friday 27 August to Saturday 28 August. Shortly after the shelling, a firearm is found in the nearby bushes.

By the explosion at Alex R.’s own home, on the Boezem in Alblasserdam, images are also shown. A man with a bag can be seen walking to the front door, sticking explosives on it. Then walks away. A thread rolls out of his bag and then the bomb goes off. This is also in the night of Friday 27 to Saturday 28 August.

That same night, at the house on Merelstraat, with the daughter of Alex R.’s girlfriend, the same man puts down an explosive. That explosive didn’t go off, by the way.

Finally, images were shown of the arson at the office building on the Edisonweg in Alblasserdam, which includes a transport company. In the night from Saturday 28 August to Sunday 29 August everything was on fire. You can see how two men violently break a window, empty an entire jerry can on the floor and then set the fire on fire. “Who recognizes this man and his accomplice?” This incident was also related in some way to Alex R., at least we know that he once rented space for one of his companies in the same building.

Two suspects arrested
An 43-year-old woman from Rotterdam was arrested on Tuesday in the investigation into the series of violent incidents in Zwijndrecht, Alblasserdam and Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. The police suspect that the woman played a role in delivering threatening letters. At least one of those threatening letters ended up in the mailbox with the son of Alex R’s girlfriend. On Wednesday it was announced that the woman will be detained for 14 days longer.

Also is a 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of placing the explosives at the house on De Boezem and the one on Merelstraat in Alblasserdam. It is possible that this is also the man who is shown in the images in the Opsporing Verzocht program. He also has to be detained for 14 days longer.
