They come from the intensive care department of the Amphia hospital in Breda. The decision was taken on Saturday by the Regional Consultation Acute Care in the Northern Netherlands. The patients are evenly distributed among the hospitals. The exact distribution is not yet known, because each patient is weighed where he or she is taken.
In the northern hospitals there is still enough room to accommodate (corona) patients. “We are trying to relieve hospitals in Brabant by taking over patients where possible,” said Ate van der Zee, chairman of the board of the UMCG and ROAZ.
In the night from Friday to Saturday, the first sick arrived in nursing wards in Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe from hospitals in Brabant. The northern ambulance services transport a total of about seventy patients this weekend.
