Monta with Normunda Pauniņa records a beautiful song on the stage of the Song Festival

The singer Monta Čubare (ex-Strūberga) together with the owner of the elegant timbre, Normund Pauniņas, have recorded a new single “Gaisa pilis”, for which the video was filmed in a place very suitable for this beautiful song – Mežaparka’s Great Stage.

A lot of new and beautiful changes have happened in the life of the singer and songwriter Monta recently.

After the musician’s second studio album “Planēta tu” was released last year, she took a small creative break, became a mother to her son Krišjānis and married her song producer Jānis Čubars. Well, it’s time for a new song: Monta, who until now could boast of duets with Siegfried Muktupävela and Kārli Būmeistara, has recorded a song with the leader of the group “Otra Puse” Normund Pauniņa. “Before I even met my husband Jānis, I liked the music of “Otras Puse” for a long time (Jānis Čubars also plays music in this group – author). While writing this song, I heard Normund’s voice in my mind, and it was only logical that we approached him to join,” explains Monta.

The arrangement of the song was made by Jānis Čubars, and the video by Kaspars Kambars, whom Monta has been entrusting to realize his visual visions for quite some time. “What has been happening in the world in recent years sometimes makes me shudder in horror. It affects me emotionally too. While writing the song, I remembered my childhood, which I spent with my older brother. Then the world seemed brighter and the grass greener. In the lyrics, I dwelled on the memories of that time, created it as a refuge. Many children in Ukraine will not have such memories…” Monta thinks. “Perhaps, listening to the song could give rise to dual feelings – both uplifting and full of hope, and anxious and depressing. I invite you to hear the light that I have tried to put in the song. May the song serve as a refuge in today’s world!”
