You will soon be able to become Geralt of Rivia and hunt monsters from your smartphone, all while strolling outside. Does the principle remind you of something? This is normal, players tend to compare mobile games in augmented reality to the famous Pokémon Go who started the fashion. The developer of the latter, Niantic, is also at the origin of Harry Potter : Wizards Unite, a similar game released in 2019 and adapted from the cult franchise. The Polish studio, CD Projekt RED, just announced The Witcher: Monster Slayer through an original presentation trailer.

The Witcher: Monster Slayer, or how to become an apprentice Witcher in real life

As you can see in the trailer below or even on the official website of the game, it will use the geolocation and the camera of your smartphone. You will be able to explore the real world in the hope of finding and fighting monsters with swords in augmented reality.

The same way you collect Pokémon in Pokémon Go, you will collect the monster trophies in The Witcher: Monster Slayer. They are obviously the same as those of the video game The Witcher 3, of which sales rose 554% a few months ago thanks to the Netflix series The Witcher. Besides, the shooting of season 2 has just resumed.
