Monkeypox Alert, Semarang City Government Prepares Quarantine Place

SEMARANG, KOMPAS.TV – Although there were no cases of monkeypox in Semarang, the Semarang City Health Service asked all hospitals to always be alert to new diseases. To anticipate cases of monkeypox in Semarang City, anticipation continues, such as tightening health protocols at airport and port entrances. In addition, all hospitals in the city of Semarang are asked to be on standby and have quarantine facilities available.

“We remain vigilant in the future. It seems that everything related to new diseases, whether caused by viruses or bacteria, we remain vigilant,” said Abdul Hakam, Head of the Semarang City Health Service.

The Semarang City Health Office will quarantine people suspected of being exposed to monkeypox, while checking to see if they have been exposed to monkeypox. Monkeypox disease itself can be transmitted through close contact with sufferers such as skin to skin, open wounds, used objects and droplets.
