The banknotes blew away from one of the top floors of the high-rise apartment complex. How that could have happened remains unclear. The police only report on Saturday that the owner has indicated that an “extremely exceptional situation” led to the money shower.
The owner’s identity has not been released, except that the person is middle-aged. According to the police, the money is legally obtained and the statement is credible.
The full amount that was blown away has not been fully recovered. An official search for the 200 euro banknotes was ended by the authorities on Tuesday. However, the police warn people who withhold money that they are in violation.
