The arsonist was detained. He said that he found an ad with an order for arson on one of the sites with job advertisements.

On the morning of October 22, a “Molotov cocktail” was thrown into the courtyard of the house of the Deputy Chairman of the President’s Office, Igor Zhovkva. The attacker was detained. This was reported by the press service of the Moscow police and UP with reference to sources.

“At about 4 am in the Darnytskyi district of Kiev, operatives of the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine detained a man who threw a bottle with a flammable mixture into the courtyard of the house of the deputy chairman of the President’s Office responsible for the direction of European integration,” the police said.

Ukrainska Pravda notes that this is the house of the deputy head of the OPU Igor Zhovkva.

As a result of the incident, no one was injured.

The attacker who threw the “Molotov cocktail” turned out to be a 25-year-old man without a permanent place of work and residence, originally from the village of Kosari, Kamensky district of the Cherkasy region.

According to him, he found a message about the ordering of the arson of the house of an unknown person on one of the job advertisements.

The detainee said that he received the victim’s address and instructions from the customer via Telegram. For the crime he was promised $ 4,000 after information about the attack on the official’s house appears in the media. The motives of the customer are not known to the detainee.

On this fact, proceedings were opened under the article on deliberate destruction or damage to property by arson. Now law enforcement officers are working to establish the person who ordered the crime.

The issue of reporting suspicion to the detainee is being resolved.
