Service users mojeIDoperated by the CZ.NIC association, they now have the option of choosing to verify their “High” guarantee level with their account. It deals with this in detail Jiří Peterka on Lupa in the article mojeID already works with a guarantee level of “high”. What is it good for and how to activate it?
This will give users access to all electronic government services, including those that require the highest security. These include, for example, the establishment and administration of an asset account or the online purchase of government bonds. There are now almost 40,000 MyID users who have an account linked to the National Identification and Authentication Point (NIA).
Activation of the “High” level requires the use of a user password and a physical security key with FIDO certification at least at the L2 level and with a set PIN. The only such key is currently GoTrust IdemKey, which is also available in the Czech Republic, via online store CZC.cz. Another condition is verification of identity via Czech POINT or another means at this level of guarantee (for example eObčanka or Starcos card from I.CA).
We have been working intensively on the implementation of the ‘High’ guarantee level over the last few months and I am very pleased to be able to announce that we have successfully completed it. We believe that the use of FIDO security keys is more convenient than the chip cards currently required at this level, while providing comparable security. The mojeID service thus continues to achieve its goal of becoming the most universal Czech digital identity,

Current mojeID users who have their account secured with the corresponding physical key can turn on the “High” guarantee level in their account settings. Here he chooses to gain access for the guarantee level “High”, sets his PIN according to the instructions and verifies his identity via Czech POINT or Eobčanka. If these users have already undergone identity verification at Czech POINT in the past, they will receive information by e-mail on how to proceed without having to visit Czech POINT again.
Users who would be interested in changing the guarantee to the “High” level and have not yet used the corresponding FIDO security key to secure the mojeID account must first attach this key to the account and then have it verified at Czech POINT or by other means mentioned above.
