Moscow. 12-th of September. INTERFAX.RU – Russian mixed martial arts fighter Sergei Kharitonov won his first professional boxing match.
He defeated Briton Danny Williams in a fight held as part of a boxing evening in Khimki. The opponents represented the heavyweight division.
The fight was originally designed for six rounds, but ended in the second: Kharitonov knocked out his opponent.
On account of 40-year-old Kharitonov in the framework of MMA 30 wins (18 by knockout) and seven (four by knockout) defeats.
The 47-year-old Williams has won 54 fights in professional boxing, including 41 by knockout. He lost 28 fights. In one of the fights – in 2004 – he knocked out Mike Tyson.
