PARIS – The al-Qaeda group threatened to slaughter the staff of the French satire magazine, Charlie Hebdo, such as the 2015 editorial office massacre. The threat arose after the weekly magazine republished the depicting cartoon Nabi Muhammad badly.

Terrorist group monitoring group cells, SITE, reported that al-Qaeda through its publication One Ummah has warned that Charlie Hebdo confused if they believe the 2015 attack was only “once”. (Read: Charlie Hebdo: No need to regret publishing cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad)

According to the group founded by Osama bin Laden, the magazine has printed “derogatory caricatures” as a defiant stunt to mark the start of a trial in Paris for the accomplices of the main 2015 attacks.

The comments appear in the English edition of al-Qaeda’s publication intended to mark the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States by the terrorist group’s network.

In its publication, al-Qaeda said the “same message” for French President Emmanuel Macron as it did for his predecessor Francois Hollande who was president at the time of the 2015 attacks. (Read: Print Cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, Charlie Hebdo Staff Protected by Bodyguards)

France, under Macron, has “given the green light” for the republishing of cartoons that poorly depict the supposed Prophet Muhammad.

A total of 12 people, including some of France’s most famous cartoonists, were killed on January 7, 2015. They were massacred when two brothers; Said and Cherif Kouachi, spit fire at the magazine office Charlie Hebdo. The two brothers died after taking action.

The trial, which began on September 2 and is expected to continue through November, featured 14 alleged accomplices, Said and Cherif Kouachi. (Read: Charlie Hebdo Magazine Reissues Cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad)
