Karlsruhe-Insider (dpa) – The police in Krefeld used body tracking dogs to look for a missing man from Baden-Württemberg.
A police spokeswoman said on Tuesday in Krefeld that an apartment building is being examined for clues. The investigators assume that the missing 51-year-old from Gaienhofen was killed.
After a reward of 3,000 euros had been offered in the case, more witnesses and whistleblowers had appeared in the last few days, the police and the public prosecutor said. One also looks for items that will serve as evidence in the case. The property is also being dug.
Gold jewelry and valuables of the deceased are said to have been offered for sale in the Krefeld area in June or July. A special commission is investigating the case. In Krefeld, leaflets were used to search for clues.
The police had meanwhile been able to identify suspects from the missing person’s private sphere, but they were released from pretrial detention. At least two of the suspects who are included in the drug scene are said to have lived in Krefeld for a time.
