STUDENT OF THE MONTH – Master 1 student at Rennes SB business school, Sarah Conan was elected Miss Bretagne.
“I never thought I would be able to register. When I was younger, I had very little self-confidence. This competition, shoots and rehearsals made me feel good. And I wanted to make my loved ones proud of me ”. This first crown obtained as Miss Brittany is a surprise for the business school student, but also for her family. The last child of the siblings after two big brothers, a business lawyer and a financial engineer, Sarah Conan moved her whole family to tears on election day. Including her mother, medical secretary, and her stepfather, a retired fishmonger. “It was unique,” she recalls.

It is a shy and reserved young woman who picks up her phone. Sarah Conan, 22, was elected Miss Brittany 2021 this Sunday, September 19. She slowly becomes aware of her victory and gradually discovers her new role as Miss, which she has always dreamed of. Sarah Conan was born in Paimpol and grew up in Lézardrieux, in the Côtes-d’Armor. Intern at the Auguste Pavie high school in Guingamp, she obtained her bac ES in 2017. “I am a serious student. I also really liked playing handball, which I started at the age of 13 but had to stop because of the pandemic linked to Covid-19 ”, confides the young woman.
Business school student
After a bachelor’s degree in economic and social administration at the University of Rennes, the student is admitted to the Rennes SB business school, in master 1 of the Grande Ecole program. “I have always had a good sense of commerce. My parents always pointed this out to me. In the third year of my license, I had my first marketing course. I loved this discipline ”. Sarah Conan already has a pretty good idea of what she would like to do after graduation. “In the short term, I would like to be a product manager. In the long term, working as a marketing director could interest me ”, shares Miss Brittany. But this year will not be punctuated by studies for Sarah Conan. For a year, she will have to meet the obligations of Miss Brittany, and will participate on December 11 in the Miss France adventure in Caen to hope to win the scarf.
“It was unique”
Since then, Miss Brittany 2021 has taken her role very seriously. “I learn a lot. It is very pleasant for me to learn to pose for the photos, to take care of myself, and to manage my social networks. Talking to the media is also a real exercise for me. I would have been unable to do so at 18. It challenges me ”. An experience, which, she is sure, will help her for her job interviews in her professional career.
But no question of leaving studies aside and focusing only on the Miss adventure. Sarah Conan is organizing her new life, and does not hesitate to lengthen her days. “I like to have a life at 100 per hour, to combine classes and travel for Miss Bretagne. Anything is possible, as long as we give ourselves the means to achieve it. “
