The newspaper Alsace reports that 14 people were indicted Thursday in Mulhouse as part of the investigation into the telecommunications pylons burned down in eight communes in Haut-Rhin, between January 2019 and January 2020.
All the suspects, twelve men and two women aged 22 to 63, are from the yellow vests movement. Prosecuted for destruction by dangerous means and in an organized gang, they were placed under judicial control.
Several million euros of damage
The first arrests were carried out during the summer, said the prosecutor of the Republic of Mulhouse during a press conference.
Nine pylons serving as relays for operators Orange, Free, SFR and Bouygues were destroyed by fire in Altkirch, Roppentzwiller, Eteimbes, Valdieu-Lutran, Traubach-le-Bas, Seppois-le-Bas, Kingersheim and Wittelsheim, recalls the daily.
The damage is estimated at several million euros.
