Mirai brought the winning Nightingale Prize to the concert, christened their new album Maneki neko and immediately received a gold record for its sale. And it was a very pleasant evening.

“The victory of the Czech Nightingale in the Group of the Year category surprised us extremely. We had no idea it would turn out that way. A few people told us that we would win this year, but we didn’t take it very seriously, “the singer and guitarist Mirai Navrátil told Práva in the locker room just before the Sunday concert.

On Saturday, Mirai Navrátil danced on the TV show StarDance and on Sunday he played the first concert with the band after the celebration trump. Originally, three clubs were planned in succession. In the end, due to new pandemic measures, only one took place, the Prague one. The group postponed the performances in Brno and Frýdek-Místek to next year. “The intention was to have the kind of concerts we had in the beginning,” Stulík explained.

They have never performed at the Rock Café Mirai in Prague in the past. Singer Mirai Navrátil played in it eight years ago with his previous band Dolls In The Factory.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t have a single rehearsal before the concert. I’ve been rehearsing slowfox and samba in recent days, “said Navrátil with a smile before the start of Sunday’s performance, referring to his performance on the StarDance show. By the way, during the concert, he admitted to the audience that he would have no problem with being eliminated from the competition, and urged them not to overdo it by sending votes for him in the future.

“Whether we make mistakes or not is not so important for this concert,” he said before it began. “In the past, we worked out in detail what and when I would say on stage, in what order we would play the songs and so on. This time we will gradually play all from the new album and then a few older ones. Everything else will come during the performance. “

He also admitted that he himself could not know the new songs, so for the first time in the band’s history, he had a reading device at his disposal during the concert, on which the lyrics of the new songs ran. “It simply came to our notice then. “I don’t want him another time,” he explained.

All new songs
In the first part of the concert, Mirai played songs from the new album in the same order as they are on it. Right after the opening Poems (I don’t care), Navrátil asked the audience if they had heard the album. As soon as there were enough loud acclaimings from them, he urged them to join in the following moments. This then happened repeatedly, all evening.

The band brought the Czech Nightingale Award to the Rock Café and did with it what they did in the past with their first statuette of the Angel. She sent her to the audience during the concert and asked them to return her to the stage when she got enough. And so she wandered through the hall from hand to hand. Everyone took pictures with her, and when he took enough pictures and photographed his surroundings with the price, he sent her on.

After Akorát, the penultimate song from the new album, an announced baptism took place. The godfather of the album was its producer Ondřej Fiedler. Jiří Kouba from the Universal Music publishing company then brought the band a well-framed Golden Record, which they received thanks to good sales results in the first days after the release.

After Líte (David), the last song from the news, the quartet said goodbye to the audience and left the stage. She kept them waiting for a few minutes before returning and playing a few more of her older acquaintances. Of course, with the common singing of most people in the hall and their and their own enthusiasm for the fact that such a concert took place at all.

The colored lights did not flicker on the stage, they were not shocked by the well-thought-out and imaginative light show or the overflow of visual effects. It was an ordinary club concert, the success of which is usually determined by how the musicians manage to “push people”. And Mirai did great on Sunday night.
