Ministry of Health: 52 of 68 Omicron Patients Experience No Symptoms: National Okezone

JAKARTA – Director of Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Directly as well as Spokesperson Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Siti Nadia Tarmizi said 52 of the total 68 exposed patients varian Omicron asymptomatic or OTG.

“Of the 68 cases we detected, most of them were asymptomatic if we saw 52 there were no symptoms at all, the rest were symptomatic but very mild,” said Nadia in a virtual discussion on BNPB Youtube, Thursday (30/12/2021).

Nadia also explained why the Omicron variant patient was isolated at the Sulianti Saroso Hospital, North Jakarta and the Kemayoran Athlete Hospital Wisma Atlet, Central Jakarta. He emphasized that the goal was to quickly localize the Omicron variant.

“Although we see that some have been sent to Wisma Athletes or RSPI, we really want to make sure, especially local transmissions, we handle more because they have a better infection process in hospitals,” he said.
