Minister VN Vasavan Inaugurates 91st Sivagiri-Gurukulam Padayatra in Kuttanad

Kuttanad: Minister VN Vasavan said that the idea put forward by the Guru through the Sivagiri Pilgrimage was the growth of the community and the upliftment of the individuals participating in it. He was inaugurating the conference on the commencement of the 91st Sivagiri-Gurukulam Padayatra led by SNDP Yuga Kuttanad Union at Kainkari Ilangav Devi Temple.

The Sivagiri-Gurukulam padayatra has three significances such as the 100th anniversary of the interfaith conference organized at the Aluva Advaita Ashram, the 100th anniversary of the Vaikom Satyagraha for freedom of movement, and the 150th birth anniversary of Kumaranashan, the first secretary of the SNDP Yog. The Minister said that Gurudev was the first to organize the World Interfaith Conference in Lakshamantha form.

The Minister said that the Guru’s visions and messages are very relevant in the social atmosphere where people are fighting each other on account of caste, religion, color, custom and ritual in various areas of North East India.

SN Trust Board Member Preeti Natesan handed over the Dharmapataka to Union Convener Santhosh Shanti. Changanassery Union President Girish Konath delivered the keynote speech and Swami Sivabodhananda of Kodokulanji Vishwadharma Math delivered the blessing speech. Union Vice-Chairman M.D. Omanakuttan delivered the Padayatra message. Union Chairman PV Binesh Plathanath presided. Convener Santhosh Shanti welcomed.
