Minister Slob to be suspended in quarantine, Media debate | Inland

Incidentally, the minister feels fine, he reported.

The first part of the debate was almost over, when the CU minister received a text message that a close employee of his was infected. After that, he also received a warning from the CoronaMelder on his phone that he has been in contact with someone with corona for more than 15 minutes. He then asked the chairman if he could leave the debate to go into quarantine.

The minister announces that he will be working from home in the near future and will be tested as soon as he receives complaints.

Distance

CU MP Stieneke van der Graaf, also present at the debate, has barely recovered from the shock. “So you see that it is also important to keep sufficient distance from each other in the meeting rooms.”

The House of Representatives will still meet in person, but has drastically reduced the number of debates. Some of the debates are handled by video link or by e-mail procedure. Debates about urgent current topics, such as the corona virus, about budgets or legislative consultations, are still held, but in such a way that the participants can keep their distance. Roll-call votes in the main hall take place in cohorts of 50.

More politicians affected

Slob is not the first of the ministers who has to go into home quarantine because of an infection in the area. Previously, Minister Tamara van Ark (Medical Care) had to go into home quarantine because of an established infection in her family. Currently, two MPs of the PVV are also in home quarantine because of infections in the family.
