Selçuk visited the newly opened Education Information Network (EBA) Control Center and EBA TV studio, EBA live class made statements regarding support and distance education process.
Minister Selçuk stated that the education in schools was interrupted by taking the break on March 16, and 3 new television channels were established in a short period of a week, and formal education was integrated into distance education.
Expressing that this is a new process for which both the student and the teacher and the system are not accustomed, Selçuk pointed out that the world has just encountered this situation.
Selçuk stated that they started preparations for distance education as soon as the decision to close the schools was taken. During the one-week test period, we had the opportunity to re-evaluate our cons, pluses and the process. “

Stating that an important investment has been made in the EBA Control Center, Selçuk continued his words as follows:
“With distance education, we have established the EBA Control Center to quickly solve the problems experienced by the demand of using millions of students at the same time. In our Control Center, our systems are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by our technical teams, and the problems in the general scale are intervened instantly. EBA statistics such as number of users, number of students, teachers and parents, minute minutes user density, number of users waiting for login outside the system, number of students using EBA Academic Support, performance indicators of applications are monitored instantly. “
Thus, Selçuk stated that data centers’ internet traffic, intense user demand, cyber attacks or other reasons are intervened immediately, and that no problem is experienced.
Pointing out that improvements have been made in the infrastructure of the system in order for more students to benefit from EBA at the same time, Selçuk said:
“With the integrated distance learning approach, we are deploying one of the TRT EBA TV broadcast programs, two; EBA, the student’s own use of the Internet, three; the EBA Live Classroom application where teachers and students can meet.
Our students will use these three components together. Our planning was made accordingly. Usage hours have been adjusted. Arrangements were created for each student to benefit from all three sources.

We have 12 classrooms, we need to divide the broadcast stream of television by class, think about children’s learning hours, and distribute internet user density according to infrastructure. We are currently working on the implementation of this planning. We will start using this trio from the second week. “
Selçuk stated that it may take several weeks for the system to operate in a much more efficient and healthy operation.
“WE HAVE PREPARED QUESTION SOLUTION TIME”
Pointing out that another important innovation has come, Selçuk said:
“Meanwhile, we increase the EBA usage time for the students and teachers of the 8th and 12th grades. We will be able to support live class support. With the live class, our students will be able to teach their own teachers in a classroom environment via EBA. Again for our 8th and 12th grade students, YKS and LGS ‘ We are preparing programs for the subjects that they are responsible for and have been working since the beginning of the first semester, in this process, we have prepared a question-solution hour to support the exam preparation routines of our 8th grade students.
Our children will be able to solve the sample questions prepared for them during these hours by following the screen. In the first place, we did not invite our teachers to work because we thought about distance education for a week. However, with the prolongation of the process, our teachers will work in their homes with a live classroom application.
We prepared a study that will encourage student-teacher interaction. In coordination with television lessons, teachers will do their homework through EBA, direct their questions, answers, and test activities, and send work. “
Pointing out that there is also a gradual implementation of live classes, Selçuk informed that they do a study to enrich the lecture content and other complementary educational content especially in television broadcasts.

Stating that they will increase their course content and duration with an approach that focuses on basic lessons, Selçuk said, “We will extend the elementary and secondary school TV program until 15.00 and then arrange to organize the lessons again.”
Stating that they have made some arrangements for the needs of the classrooms to use EBA more effectively, Selçuk said that they reopened EBA for the use of elementary school students in 3rd and 4th grades.
Stating that 5 to 10th grade students will double their access time to EBA, Selçuk continued his words as follows:
“We have started the application of 11th and 12th grade students to benefit from the EBA Academic Support system without any time limitation. All of this means that EBA is used over tens of times of normal use. This comes with a burden and it requires a comprehensive technical study. Under such conditions, it takes months, but we do strengthening with all our means and we are getting better every day, every hour. “
Selçuk pointed out that there are constant updates made so that more students can benefit from EBA at the same time and access better, and sometimes it can be perceived as if there was an interruption in the system.

Stating that in distance education, which is a new experience for everyone, students, teachers, parents, and content providing teams make great efforts, Selçuk made the following evaluations:
