Minister of Health deleted Twitter message after refs

Fully vaccinated Javid tested positive last Saturday for the coronavirus – two days before the British “day of freedom”, there several coronary restrictions were lifted.

– This morning I tested positive for covid, he said and added that he had very mild symptoms.

A week later, he wrote in a Twitter message that he had recovered from the virus, and added the sentence:

“Please take the vaccine if you have not already taken it. Do it while we learn to live with, instead of “cowering from” the virus.

“Cower” is defined by Cambridge Dictionary like crawling together, often as you move backwards. According to the dictionary, it is a synonym for being afraid.

Asked to visit corona memorial wall

The wording made many people see red and accuse Javid of not understanding the concerns of those with underlying illness or in vulnerable groups – or respecting those who have lost loved ones.

– Insensitive, stated the support group Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice, which helps survivors of corona deaths on the way forward.

They urged the Minister of Health to meet them at The National Covid Memorial Wall, a public mural painted by volunteers in memory of victims of the London Corona Pandemic.

But before he could look the victims in the eye, he deleted the Twitter message and got one regret:

– I have deleted a tweet where I used the word «cower». I expressed gratitude that the vaccines are helping us fight back as a society, but it was a bad choice of words, and I sincerely apologize, he wrote on Sunday, adding:

– Like many others, I too have lost loved ones to this terrible virus and would never play down the tracks it leaves.

The opposition Labor Party also managed to react before Javid deleted the message.

“These people (the vulnerable, journ.anm.) Are not hiding from the virus in fear, they are just trying to stay safe,” said Vicky Foxcroft, the minister responsible for people with disabilities and a member of the British Parliament.

Reopened despite rapid spread of infection

Since Javid took over as minister after Matt Hancock on June 26, the government has, according to The Guardian pressured to lift almost all imposed coronary restrictions despite rapid spread of infection.

Data from the National Statistics Office show that 741,700 tested positive for corona last week. This corresponds to one in 75, up from one in 95 the week before.

The Delta variant now accounts for virtually all new cases of infection in the United Kingdom. When Prime Minister Boris Johnson lifted the restrictions on Monday, he urged people to “learn to live with the virus” and show sound judgment in everyday life.

More than 129,000 deaths have been registered in connection with the pandemic in the country. Russia alone has registered several deaths in Europe, with more than 153,000 deaths, the survey shows Worldometers.
