Average salary in Germany

In April 2022, the average gross monthly salary in Germany was 4,105 euros (98,876 crowns), excluding special payments (holiday, Christmas bonuses and rewards). As in other countries of the world, most employees do not reach the average wage, as its amount is most affected by people with very high incomes.

In Germany, approximately one third of employees receive average and higher wages. Most employees receive a salary in the range of 2,901 to 3,100 euros, namely 6.5 percent. Over 40 percent of employees then receive a salary between 2,501 and 3,900 euros, and even 6.6 percent of employees have a gross salary above 7,301 euros per month.
