A step closer to the goal of a minimum wage of 950 euros by the end of the government’s four-year term and an average wage of 1,500 euros, the government staff is making.
The aim of the ministry is for the new increase in the minimum wage to come into effect around the same time as 2023, i.e. from April 1.
As of April 1, 2023, the increase in the minimum wage, by 9.4%, to 780 euros gross for low-wage workers is in effect.
If everything goes according to the planning of the government staff, from April 1, 2024 there will be another increase, the percentage of which will depend on inflation, the budget and the course of the Greek economy in general.
