“How do the masters of sweets give gifts first, when they teach boys how to make a promise? A promise, that is”? This million zloty question was answered by Mr. Sławomir Świątecki from Katowice in the “Millionaires” program.
The host of the game show, Hubert Urbański, once again read the millionaire question. A lucky person, Mr. Sławomir, who is a customer service consultant, heard them. A historian by education and a linguist by passion, who knows, among others, Romanian, Persian and Indonesian.
The contestant did an excellent job of answering the questions, which led him to a chance to win the grand prize. He faced questions including: in the field of culinary, chemical and linguistic knowledge. However, when he reached the final question, he was left with no lifelines. This was his twelfth question worth a million zlotys.
“Like the masters of sweets, they first give gifts when they train boys to make promises.” The promise, i.e.:
A: alphabet
B: a solemn promise
C: body rounding
D: fornication
After hearing the question, Mr. Sławomir indicated the answers C i Dthat was initially on his mind. He eliminated the answers A i B, because they seemed “a bit pointless” to him. When asked by the host Hubert Urbański whether he would like to take the risk, he jokingly replied that yes, but he would not be able to do it. Mr. Sławomir confessed that half a million zlotys was also a big win, so he decided to thank him for the game and finally give up. The participant ended his participation in the “Millionaires” program with the amount of PLN 500,000. zlotys.
What is a promise?
Obiecadło, obiecadło, ozieciado – these are the Old Polish equivalents of the alphabet, i.e. the alphabet. The similarity between the word “promise” and the word “promise” in this case is completely coincidental. So the correct answer to this question is A.
