LASK is about to sign Danish midfielder Mads Emil Madsen. According to LASK trainer Valerien Ismael, the 22-year-old only has to successfully complete the medical check.
The Upper Austrians are said to transfer a reported 1.6 million euros to Silkeborg. Madsen could replace Peter Michorl in the future, who, according to Ismael, no longer wants to extend his contract, which has only been running for a year, and was recently associated with a move to Hamburger SV.
Given Michorl’s “outstanding level” this season, a transfer should be expected, according to Ismael. “This risk was too big for us, so we looked around and tried to be more active and not to be a loser if the player was actually going to leave us,” Ismael told Sunday Sky.
If Madsen’s transfer works, the Dane would be LASK’s new record purchase. The Linzers are still represented in the Europa League, where they play against Manchester United in the round of 16 after a successful group phase.
