Mikael Ymer is ready for the Stockholm Open quarter-finals after playing steadily against last year’s winner Tommy Paul, USA, 6-2, 6-3.
Sverigeetta now faces first-seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals. They have met four times and the Greek world number five is 4-0 in matches. They met at both the Australian Open and Roland Garros this year.

After the match against title holder Tommy Paul and the first quarter-final of the Stockholm Open, Mikael said:
– I’m playing very well now. I had a period in my career around 2019 when I kept a higher level. It is approaching the highest level and it is nice to have a clear idea of what I need to keep developing in order to keep discussing continuously with the players I have to discuss with.

Elias Ymer was incredibly close to joining little brother Mikael in the quarter-finals on Friday.
