However, there was a rush after the garden centers opened: “We have never seen such a good week in Migros history,” said Zumbrunnen. Sales have doubled, but this cannot compensate for the losses in the past two months.

Despite everything, Zumbrunnen expects “solid results” overall. Even if the Migros Group faces great difficulties in some business areas, it will not make a loss. “Individual areas, such as the hotel map, will slip into the red,” said the Migros boss opposite “Blick”.

There will be no price increases due to the increased security measures in the shops, “definitely not,” says Zumbrunnen.
