In this sense, they pointed out that the list of risk areas may be expanded by the Ministry of Health, according to the epidemiological situation, through alerts and updates duly published on the official website of the Ministry of Health.

In case of not presenting the document, people will be subjected to a sanitary control for a period of 10 days from their entry.

In the case of leaving the country, both for nationals and resident foreigners, the International Certificate of Vaccination against the yellow fever at the time of purchasing the ticket and/or when carrying out immigration procedures. In case of not complying with the requirement, the departure of the country will be denied by the Migration staff.

“Any foreign person, not resident in Paraguay, coming from a risk area, must present the international certificate of vaccination against yellow fever to enter Paraguay,” they mentioned.

In exceptional cases, there are people who, for reasons related to health, cannot receive the vaccination, which must be justified through a certificate issued by a registered medical professional authorized by the Ministry of Health or by the health authority of the country of origin and comply with health monitoring and control for 10 days.

People who travel by air and make a stopover in any of the risk areas will not have the obligation to present the international yellow fever vaccination certificate.

The international certificate can be issued at any regional hospital in the country and at health services and does not require a visa and is valid for life.

The vaccine must be applied at least 10 days before the trip and it is a single dose that provides protection for life and does not require a booster dose.
