Mighty impressed Carragher predicts that the banana peels may come away

– From Liverpool’s point of view, performance is not so much about actual quality. The mentality of coming up with the second round, after being running in between in the first. We have been there ourselves as players, says Jamie Carragher in the studio.

– It is a big pitch, and it almost seemed as if Liverpool did not have the energy to handle Manchester City. I actually thought they had to make a switch.

Changed after the break

Jürgen Klopp saved instead. The first did not come until after 70 minutes, and then Liverpool had taken back much of the command on the field. After the match, “Carra” was asked if the change was more tactical or mental.

– I do not think they did anything totally different.

– We have talked about the high line, it was almost as if they stood even higher. At one point, Trent Alexander-Arnold almost came through after a kick from the keeper.

– These things do not change. They believe in what they do, and rightly so.

Both impressed

In a top match that had the most, football and excitement were perhaps the big winner. The settlement had exactly the nerve and drama that made it a delight for neutral spectators.

– Considering how good City was in the first place, as I said, Liverpool was run today, and then came out and produced such an achievement, and maybe be better than City at the start of the round, I was so impressed with both team today, says Carragher.

Even expert Roy Keane, who is often known for being negative or critical, was thrilled.

– I think that the quality and what impressed me with all these top players is the desire to continue and try to win the match.

– It was a reminder to all of us what this game is about, that’s why we love it. I think it was amazing.

Think a team will stumble

On your Twitter writes the Liverpool legend that a draw in the end was the best point for the Reds. The 44-year-old predicts at the same time that the away matches, with some potential draws, will decide the title.

Manchester City will go to Leeds in round 35 and West Ham in 37. Liverpool have Newcastle, Aston Villa and Southampton away.
