Who and why committed the assault
Midnight arson of cars in the center of Sofia. Several cars were burnt to ashes on Wednesday night.
This happened a few blocks away from “Pirogov”. The victims say it happened around 02:00-03:00 on the night of March 7-8.
“My neighbor called me around 03:00 and said my car was on fire. When I went, it was already extinguished. Firefighters said the fire started in the middle car. And a few days before that, it was vandalized – with a gas cap ripped off, a tire slashed and traces of a bomb on the windshield. As far as I know, the police have detained one person,” said one victim.
So far, it is known that a 34-year-old man has been detained, against whom pre-trial proceedings have been initiated.
The owners of the car, which had a few days before with slashed tires, say they do not know this man. “I don’t know him, but my neighbors have had problems with him for years. There are complaints to the prosecutor’s office, to the police,” said the son of the car owner.
A third neighbor said that a year ago he was doing repairs and the man in question came up and threatened the craftsmen that he would kill them, broke the lock on the door, threw bottles of flammable liquid on the terrace, and the front door was also set on fire.
People say they are afraid.
