Activision Blizzard does have an extremely large game lineup for Microsoft to tap into. After all, this publisher is already a very large company after the merger of the two companies, and now with Microsoft’s investment. Whether it’s a remake or a port, Microsoft currently has plenty of options. Even so, Spencer emphasized that they would not port classics purely to make money from players.

“I want to make sure that when we go back and visit a game, we all have to be fully invested in it…not just to drive financial gain or public relations and fail to meet the expectations of the players,” he said.

Although Phil Spencer himself has a personal wish list of Activision Blizzard games that he hopes to see again, such as the classic shooter “Hexen”, he still said that the production team must also be passionate during the process of remaking or porting. There is a chance of success.

“If the team is going to revisit some of the old IPs that we currently have and put our heart and soul into it, I’m willing to fully support it. I think there’s a pretty amazing treasure trove of games behind it that we can reconnect with again,” he said.

“I’m thinking about things like the Quake 2 port that id Software put out not too long ago, and I thought that was really cool. They did a really good job of revisiting a game and modernizing it while also The history of the series is not left behind. I would like to see more titles like this released.”

For now, these are all future plans that are still under development, and Phil Spencer also emphasized that Activision Blizzard’s games will not be launched immediately this year, that is, within the next two months. Their Game Pass platform.

“The most important truth about Activision Blizzard’s King is that the process of getting approval really took too long… We were not able to immediately start cooperation projects with Activision Blizzard related to the old product lineup before.
