Microsoft to Invest 4 Billion Euros in Data Center Infrastructure in France, Largest Investment to Date

Microsoft will invest 4 billion euros in data center infrastructure in France in the coming years. The American tech company will expand two existing data centers and establish a new data center in the country.

Microsoft writes in a press release that around 25,000 new advanced GPUs will be delivered by the end of 2025 to strengthen its current cloud and AI infrastructure in France. The company will expand the existing data center infrastructure in Paris and Marseille, and will establish a new data center in the Grand Est region, in the north-east of the country.

This is the largest investment by the American tech company in France. With these investments, Microsoft wants to accelerate the adoption of AI technology in France, strengthen the country’s competitiveness and support the economy. The company focuses on the needs of both the private and public sector and also has a program to support AI start-ups.

Microsoft also pays attention to renewable energy. The company wants all of its operations to run on fully renewable energy by the end of 2025. By the end of this year, the company should be able to generate 100MW of electricity in France.
