Fortunately, accessibility in video games has become a recurring theme in recent years. However, and despite the fact that more and more studios and developers add options and tools in their projects that allow people with disabilities to enjoy the experience, it is undeniable that there is still a long way to go. Fortunately, there are companies like Microsoft that are very committed to the issue.

This week, Microsoft announced a new course that seeks to educate novice and veteran developers on how to improve accessibility in video games. The best part? The course is completely free and is available to anyone who wants to learn about this interesting and useful topic.

These classes seek to educate on the importance of accessibility in games

The course in question is called Gaming Accessibility Fundamentals and is made up of 5 modules, which can be completed in an approximate time of 3 hours and 49 minutes. The goal is for developers to learn the basics of creating video games that are inclusive and accessible to the greatest number of players.

In the first module, participants will learn the fundamentals of accessibility. In the second, they will discover how to collaborate with the gaming and disability community to create accessible experiences for those communities.
