The Government of Mexico extradited the United States to eight suspected drug traffickers belonging to high-ranking officials from different Mexican cartels, the Attorney General’s Office reported Monday.

“In a coordinated and simultaneous action, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) delivered in extradition to eight men required by authorities of the United States of America, in compliance with the Extradition Treaty signed between Mexico and that country,” he said. The institution in a statement.

The eight alleged criminals, captured in Mexican territory, were sent to the United States from the Toluca airport, near Mexico City, after the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs authorized the extradition.

Local media identified the alleged criminals as senior officers of the criminal organizations Cartel del Golfo, Cartel de Juárez, La Línea, Los Zetas and Los Laredo.

The Mexican Prosecutor’s Office reported that Gilberto “B”, Roberto “A”, Luis “V”, Ismael “L” and Pedro “S” were required by federal courts in Columbia, Texas, New Mexico and Pennsylvania to accuse them of drug trafficking .

For his part, Jorge “G” is accused by a California court for his probable responsibility in drug trafficking and drug trafficking, while Benjamin “V” was required by a Texas court for alleged money laundering and possession of firearms .

Also, William “T” was extradited to the United States, where a Texas court seeks to prosecute him for drug trafficking and money laundering.

Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, who was extradited to the United States in 2016, was sentenced to life imprisonment by a New York jury who found him guilty of 10 charges, including participation in a continuing criminal enterprise and drug trafficking, among others and sentenced to life imprisonment.

The Mexican Government carried out last October an unsuccessful capture operation against Ovid Guzman, son of Chapo, who was released after hitmen from the Sinaloa Cartel besieged the city of Culiacán.
