Mexican-American Forward Juan Toscano-Anderson Returns to NBA with Sacramento Kings

More is added to the great performance of Jaime Jáquez Jr. in his rookie campaign with the Miami Heat Mexican-American company in the NBA. Juan Toscano-Anderson is back in the league.

The forward who represents the national team Mexico and was playing with the CDMX Captains in the G League he joins Sacramento Kings, as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPNthis Thursday.

It will be the Toscano’s third step in the NBAafter a stage with the Golden State Warriors in March 2020 and his return in 2020-2021, which then continued with the signing for the Los Angeles Lakers and the transfer to the Utah Jazz until his contract ended at the end of the 2022-2023 season.

Juan Toscano-Anderson a Sacramento Kings

Juan Toscano-Anderson returns to play for a franchise from California, his home state (he only needs to defend the colors of the LA Clippers) and he does so by joining a current Kings team. Sacramento came close to winning 50 games last season and took the Golden State Warriors to seven games in the first round of the playoffs, and this season he started again as a candidate to reach the postseason.

JTA’s good performance in the G League with the Capitanes CDMX was a great showcase for him to show what he is capable of: he averaged 19.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 steals, 0.9 blocks and 3.6 assists in 11 development league games in the current season, with 48.4% accuracy in field goals and being fundamental to the success of Capitanes (7-4 record when Toscano played).

In Sacramento, however, Toscano will be difficult to get minutes: the team has a very deep rotation in which even Chris Duarte and Davion Mitchell (2021 Draft lottery picks) and Alexander Vezenkov (last Euroleague MVP) have become marginalized by coach Mike Brown, who has many options on the bench. Brown was an assistant to Steve Kerr in the Toscano era at Golden State Warriors and from there he meets the Mexican-American forward.

The starting five does not usually change from De’Aaron Fox, Kevin Huerter, Harrison Barnes, Keegan Murray and Domantas Sabonis, the starters from the last Playoffs.

Juan Toscano-Anderson’s contract with Sacramento Kings

Toscano-Anderson signs an agreement with Sacramento Kings by a season, as reported by Wojnarowski. It was not reported what his salary would be, although this should be a minimum salary because Sacramento no longer has salary space.
