Honda has paid a special tribute to brand new world champion on its social media channels Max Verstappen. The motorcycle supplier has shared a beautiful video that reflects on the special moments they shared together.
Honda returned to the premier class in 2015, after a long absence. The Japanese desperately wanted to win another world championship and hoped this with McLaren to be able to do. However, the collaboration was not as successful as had been hoped. At the end of 2017 McLaren switched to Renault, while Red Bull (now AlphaTauri) entered into a partnership with Honda. This collaboration went so well that the larger Red Bull Racing in 2019 decided to take the gamble. The rest is history.

The engine supplier has spared no expense in recent years to achieve good results with AlphaTauri and Red Bull Racing. The Japanese were very involved in the project and left nothing to chance, in the hope that they could finally fight for the world title. And that has now been achieved with Max Verstappen and Red Bull. However, the adventure is now over. Honda is leaving Formula 1, because the activities would no longer fit into the company’s vision of the future. But they don’t do this until they have given Verstappen a worthy thank you.
