Meurthe-et-Moselle: a schoolboy who had broadcast beheading videos on Snapchat indicted

A college student in Toul (Meurthe-et-Moselle) was indicted over the weekend after posting videos of beheading on Snapchat, we learned Monday from the Nancy prosecutor. “The minor was indicted on Saturday afternoon for broadcasting the recording of images relating to the commission of a willful attack on the integrity of the person,” said the public prosecutor of Nancy, François Perain, confirming information from L’Est Républicain.

The minor, aged 15 and educated at the Admiral Rigny College in Toul, was placed on prejudicial probation, and “will therefore be followed by educators from the Judicial Protection of Youth”, specifies François Perain. He was taken into custody on Friday after posting several videos of beheading on the Snapchat social network.

A listening cell, made up of staff of a social worker, a school nurse and a mobile security team, was set up within the establishment on Monday, indicates the Rectorate of the Academy of Nancy-Metz. An intervention in partnership with the Toul police is also scheduled Tuesday around the “uses and risks of social networks”.
