Several records of heat, or rather of mildness, fell last night in the eastern part of France after a day when the thermometer had already climbed.
In Meurthe-et-Moselle, for example, the Nancy-Essey resort, open since 1927, recorded a minimum night temperature of 22.3 ° C. The previous record dated from the heatwave of 2003. On August 14, the temperature had not dropped below 22.2 ° C.
Near Jarny, in Doncourt-lès-Conflans, it was 25.4 ° C (+ 13 ° C compared to normal). The city thus exceeds its record of last July 26 (22.3 ° C).
And it’s not just in Lorraine where the night turned out to be “tropical”.

In Haute-Saône, in Chargey-lès-Gray, it was 24.3 ° C. The station, opened in 1997, broke a fresh record last year. On July 26, it was 23.5 ° C at its lowest.
Still in Bourgogne Franche-Comté, Saint-Yan in Saône-et-Loire (22.4 ° C; old record of 21.8 ° C on 07/22/1989) and Tavaux in Jura (24.7 ° C; old record 24.1 ° C on 07/29/2019) were not left out.

Fortunately, the next few nights should be very different because the fresh air is back. The temperatures will be warmer and will allow you to enjoy the weekend … even when the sun goes down.
