Metal Slug Tactics brings Advance Wars love to Nintendo Switch

This week Nintendo showed a lot of cool games coming to the Nintendo Switch during the Indie World presentation. We’ve already mentioned a few, but we certainly don’t want to withhold Metal Slug Tactics from you.

In the title I link Metal Slug Tactics to Advance Wars. That GBA classic will be re-released on the Nintendo Switch at the end of this year. But this is a new tactical game, which also seems to be worth checking out.

Metal Slug Tactics op de Nintendo Switch

Metal Slug Tactics is in the works for both the Nintendo Switch and PC. Other platforms are not mentioned at this time. It is a tactical spin-off on the action-packed arcade game, which has received a lot of parts. In those games, you walk from left to right, taking care of the many different enemies you encounter along the way. The game is made by the French Leikir Studio and published by DotEmu. That studio has already given a lot of games from the past a new lick of paint or took it to make a new game out of it. That seems to be what this game is going to be.

Metal Slug Tactics seems especially interesting to me on the Nintendo Switch, because you can play it anytime and anywhere and also do a mission every time. In the game it is important to position your troops tactically and to deal with the various enemies in a logical way. You can get to work with well-known characters such as Marco, Tarma, Fio and Eri. Although it’s a very different game than you’re used to from the series, it’s good to see that the game does resemble the old titles visually.

Enough to do

Looking at the trailer like that, it looks like there’s a lot of variety. In addition to regular enemies, you also have to deal with the well-known tanks and there is even a huge robot at the end, which seems to count as a boss fight. In short, a game to look forward to.
