Metal Gear Solid is disappearing from sale. Iconic views of MGS removed by Konami from digital stores

In recent weeks, we were able to get acquainted with unconfirmed reports of work on Metal Gear Solid 3 Remakemeanwhile, the Japanese face a certain problem related to older productions. The studio confirmed that it was due to license problems Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3 have been removed from digital distribution today.

“We are currently working on renewing the license for selected archival footage used in the game, so we have made a temporary decision to suspend sales of METAL GEAR SOLID 2, METAL GEAR SOLID 3 and all products containing these games in digital stores around the world, starting on November 8, 2021 year”.

Konami asks for your patience and understanding as he is intensely committed to bringing the games back for sale, but it’s hardly a secret that someone on the Japanese team has failed and missed the licensing issue early.

As a result, from today we will not buy the following titles:

• PlayStation Vita METAL GEAR SOLID HD COLLECTION
• PlayStation Now METAL GEAR SOLID HD COLLECTION
• Xbox 360 METAL GEAR SOLID HD EDITION: 2 & 3
• Nintendo 3DS METAL GEAR SOLID SNAKE EATER 3D
• GOG.com METAL GEAR SOLID 2 SUBSTANCE
• NVIDIA SHIELD METAL GEAR SOLID 2 HD for SHIELD TV
• NVIDIA SHIELD METAL GEAR SOLID 3 HD for SHIELD TV

The list includes the individual versions of Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3, as well as collections containing titles. Interestingly, MGS 2 hit GOG in September last yearhowever, as a result of this situation, it will not be available for sale.
