BorneoFlash.com, TECNO – Apple’s Vision Pro mixed reality device fever apparently also infected Mark Zuckerberg. The owner of the technology giant Meta also tried out Apple’s product and gave his testimony.
In a video posted on Instagram, Zuckerberg gave his assessment of the Vision Pro versus his company’s new Quest 3 headset. With confidence, he said Quest 3 was still better.
“I don’t just think the Quest is a better value, I think the Quest is a better product. Period,” he said as quoted by BorneoFlash.com from The Verge on Saturday (17/2/2024).
He added that the Quest 3 is 120 grams lighter, so it is more comfortable to wear for longer. He also said that the product offers freedom of movement and a wider field of view.
He thinks the Quest’s options for physical hand controllers and hand tracking for input are also better, though he says he’s a fan of eye tracking for some use cases.
Not stopping there, Zuckerberg said the Quest has a better “immersive” content library than Apple, which is technically true for now, although he acknowledged the Vision Pro is a better entertainment device.
And finally, he brought up the fact that the Quest 3 is seven times cheaper than the Vision Pro which is priced at IDR 50 million.
