Red carpet “Met Ball”: Star-studded gala in New York

The gala is almost a must for fashion-interested celebrities. Many stars are expected again this year.
Stars such as actresses Penélope Cruz and Michaela Coel, musician Dua Lipa and ex-tennis pro Roger Federer are expected tomorrow (from 6:00 p.m. local time on Monday, 00:00 a.m. on Tuesday CEST) at the New York Metropolitan Museum for the Met Gala.
The star-studded event traditionally takes place on the first Monday in May. The supreme hostess of the benefit gala is again Anna Wintourhead of the US fashion magazine “Vogue”.
Often referred to as the “Party of the Year”Met Ballis an annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute. The estimated multimillion-dollar “Costume Institute Benefit” makes up the annual budget of the institute, now named after Wintour.
This year, the gala is to open an exhibition about the fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, who died in 2019. Around 150 works by the Hamburg-born designer will be on display in the “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” show.
