Maximiliano Biancocci, Barcelona’s cousin Lionel Messi, revealed why Leo did not play football in Argentina, and continues with the Catalan club so far.
Lionel since he was escalated in 2004, has played for no team but Barcelona, and has achieved everything with the Catalan club at the local and continental level.

Maximiliano said in comments carried by the Spanish newspaper “Marca”: “Lionel is not Argentine, but he loves Argentina very much, a love that people cannot understand.”
“He is always described as Catalan, but he is very Argentine, he loves Argentina in his own way, and his summer vacation is always here,” he added.
He concluded: “He married Rosario, and all his memories remain in Argentina, and had it not been for the insecurity in the country recently, I would have said that he would not continue with Barcelona and return to play in the Argentine league.”
