Attack Barcelona Lionel Messi Disqualified for 2 matches by the Competition Committee after being sent off in a game for Spanish Super Cup vs Athletics (2:3).

Chief Arbiter Jesus Gil Manzano showed Messi a red card in the 120th minute for back blow to the head striker Asiera Villalibre… Messi received his first red card in 753 appearances in a Blaugrana shirt.

According to the regulations, Messi could have missed 4 to 12 gamesif his blow were recognized as aggressive behavior. Referee did not indicate in the protocolthat the Barca forward showed aggression.
