“Mesa” publishes an exhilarating video for the song “Closer to You”

Today, October 29, “Mesa” will release a video for the recently released song “Tuvāk Tev”. The video is made in light colors, reminding you of how important we are to each other and how important it is to support each other!

“Now we have returned to the closed phase of society, when a lot of time has to be spent in isolation and separated from each other. Therefore, in order for this song to serve as a reminder of the importance of togetherness, to support the other person and to give inspiration to take common steps and see common goals, ”Mesa leader Gatis Irbe reminds of the idea of the song.

Although only a three-minute video narration is submitted to the audience, the process of creating it was quite time-consuming – each thing and object in the clip was moved by centimeters to get the desired end result. The video was made in stop motion technique, capturing 1070 shots in 2 days. The actors – Druvis Anusāns and Anete Klapkalne, both are dancers and choreographers, have a great merit in this process. The footage was taken by the talented photographer Kristiāns Rukuts.

The song “Closer to You” is a testament to thinking about the most important things in life in this unusual time of Covid-19. That is why in this video Gatis (MESA) has a role as a narrator who looks into himself, looking for the most important answers in life. The frame is a symbolic form of the story that the song is about. It opens up a wonderful world, which is only possible if you have found the right person. You can stumble, conquer the peaks, rise to the stars – if you do it in pairs, it has a special meaning. And just like with the butterfly feeling in our stomachs, we depict the first part of the story, ”director Aldis Ozoliņš tells about the work on the clip. to discover the real values of life that would be meaningless without the other person. ”

The actors shown in the video are Druvis Anusāns and Anete Klapkalne, Director: Aldis Ozoliņš, Video camera: Juris Pīlēns, Stop motion: Kristiāns Rukuts, Art: Egija Rukute, Style & Makeup: Inese Kalve, Makeup: Kristīne Čakare.
