The current Mercedes-Benz CLS debuted in the fall of 2017, so it’s too early for a full restyling. But the “four-door coupe” has already got some elements of the recently updated “esh”. The company timed this modernization to the beginning of the 2021 model year. With the exception of a couple of new body colors added to the old palette, the exterior remained the same, but the engineers revised the engine range, and inside the four-door became a little more modern thanks to the new media system.

CLS was one of the last models that got the old Comand multimedia, because already at the beginning of 2018 the more modern MBUX complex debuted on the new A-class. He went to the E-class during restyling, and now he has also passed the CLS models. Despite the new “stuffing”, the display has retained its previous size (12.3 inches diagonally), although now it is touch-sensitive. And the external sign of the new multimedia was a different trackpad on the central tunnel, devoid of the old washer.

The three-liter diesel engine OM 656 on the CLS 400 d 4Matic version now produces 330 hp. instead of 340, however, the torque remains the same (700 Nm). The modified autopilot is now able to independently resume the movement of the car after a stop, if it lasted less than a minute, and the auto-braking system can independently slow down in front of the car, turning from the opposite direction to the left. CLS also got an optional blind spot control function that warns of danger when opening doors.

Sales in Europe have already started, a little later the updated CLS will reach the Russian market. And in the first half of 2021, the model should undergo a full-fledged restyling, which will bring her a retouched appearance and a revised range of engines.
