Recruited by the MHSC – Montpellier HSC from the Chamois Niortais in Ligue 2, during the summer transfer window in 2018 against a check for around 2 million euros, Junior Sambia (25 years old) had carried out a very interesting 2020-2021 financial year with a goal and six assists in Ligue 1, but the Lyon native will have been less prominent during this 2021-2022 season (one goal in 30 L1 games).
At the end of the contract with the MHSC, Junior Sambia had quickly made the choice not to extend to Montpellier in order to take up a new challenge to take a step forward in his career.
