Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the dates for the next transfer window are completely uncertain at this time.
Initially, the summer transfer window was to be open from June to the end of August, but with the current health crisis, there is complete doubt. And for good reason, the transfer window will not open its doors before the end of the competitions and for the time being, it is obviously impossible to know on what date the championships will end … if they end one day. FIFA is therefore seriously considering opening a third transfer window to help clubs, whose finances are in jeopardy and which rely in particular on the transfer market to sell players and balance their accounts.
“We could see the opening of a third transfer window” said James Kitching, director of FIFA football regulations at the microphone of the German channel ARD, before continuing. “We must recognize that labor law and the autonomy of clubs and players always take precedence”. Information which will undoubtedly make the happiness of the various European clubs if it were to be confirmed in the coming weeks. Because the very idea of seeing the summer transfer window shortened in 2020 began to seriously worry clubs, especially those making trading their business and those with a large deficit, as is the case of the Girondins de Bordeaux , Saint-Etienne or Marseille in Ligue 1.
