Memo Belastingdienst: 3000 euro debt was automatically stamped fraudster

This infamous ‘OGS’ stamp (intentional / gross negligence) made it impossible for victims to make a payment arrangement and ensured that they were also excluded from all compensation arrangements. As a result, victims got into serious financial trouble. In some cases, families were even forced to sell their homes and were left with a sky-high residual debt.

Stamp incorrectly

It is now clear that the stamp was incorrect in 96 percent of the cases.

‘Not specifically motivated’

“We are no longer going to find out why there is a reclaim. The intent / gross negligence will therefore no longer be specifically motivated”, the memo says literally. In this way, the Tax and Customs Administration wanted to ‘clear up the backlog at a rapid pace’.

State Secretary Alexandra van Huffelen announced the find of the memo today. She added that it is not certain whether the memo was executed.
