After the corona case in the stadium: Numerous football fans in isolation

In Australia, numerous Australian football fans have been forced into domestic isolation after an infected spectator sat in the stadium last weekend.
A total of 23,000 fans watched the match between Collingwood and Port Adelaide at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) live. How many people are affected was initially unclear.
“People who have sat in Zone 4, Level 1 will be contacted directly and should isolate themselves until a negative test result is available,” said the health authorities. In addition, video material is evaluated in order to find further contact persons. The Australian Football League (AFL) announced on Wednesday that players from Port Adelaide and supervisors would also have to undergo corona tests because they flew back in the same plane as some fans from the affected block.
Australia has so far been very successful in fighting the pandemic due to extremely strict measures. However, new cases were recently confirmed in Melbourne, the country’s second largest city, including those with the highly contagious Indian variant.
