MEF trained officials to execute S / 3,705 million in maintenance of nndc roads | Economy

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) carried out a virtual training in which more than 530 budget, administration and infrastructure officials participated, as well as authorities from provincial municipalities. In the event, the scope of the Emergency Decree 070-2020 was explained regarding the S / 3,705 million destined to the maintenance of neighborhood roads, as part of the Arranca Perú program.

The MEF has already started the process for transferring resources to local governments, with which the 190 provincial municipalities can begin the process of contracting services for road maintenance as well as institutional strengthening.

“These temporary jobs will help many families regain income, which will boost demand for goods and services. In addition, as a result of the road maintenance plan, different towns and regions will have more passable roads as a result of maintenance actions ”, indicated the Minister of Economy and Finance, María Antonieta Alva, during the opening of the event.

During the training, the MEF explained the procedure for the transfer of resources, the preparatory actions, the selection process and the execution of road maintenance.

Likewise, one of the exhibitions provided assistance to the participants regarding the contracting shortcut, in such a way that the local authorities make the calls for the selection process no later than July 20 and sign contracts no later than August 21.

Also the Minister of Transport and Communications, Carlos Lozada, participated in the virtual training. He indicated that the Arranca Peru program has the objective of contributing to the economic reactivation and generating jobs from the second half of the year.
